COVID-19 Update: Permissible Real Estate Activities

While in-room auctions and traditional open homes are still not permitted in Queensland, some restrictions have been eased as of 1 May 2020. The following real estate activities are now permissible:

  • Private appointments for inspection (as previously advised); and,
  • Open inspections with a maximum of six (6) people including the real estate agent inside the home at any one time, with no more than one person per 4 square metres.

If advertising an open inspection to attract two or more group showings (with a maximum of six people including the real estate agent), a second real estate agent will be required outside of the property to manage social distancing and strict hygiene protocols which must still be observed.

For more information please visit the Queensland Health website, which has further details on restrictions and exemptions for non-essential business. Alternatively, check out REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella’s Facebook update here.
